Description:

This layer contains the final priority projects for the 2022 Regional Trails Strategy. It was developed with input from the USFS, TAMBA, Tahoe Fund, TRTA, CA State Parks, NV State Parks, the Washoe Tribe, and Achieve Tahoe. Trail alignments shown in this chapter are a ‘planning-level’ illustration of intended routes and provide a general depiction of where the trail will be located. Most of these projects are considered “programmed projects,” meaning the project has gone through, or is in the process of going through, the environmental review process with the appropriate land manager. This layer should be updated by TRPA staff as necessary, in coordination with Steering Committee members, with updates to the Regional Trails Strategy document.

Attribute Description

Description: Basic project description from project proponent

Priority: Projects fall into either 0-5 year bucket (high priority) or 5-15 year bucket (low priority)

Project Proponent: Refers to the organization or agency that would be helping to implement the project

Proposed User: Refers to who will be allowed to use the trail.
